After ABB Sweden placed a large order on smoothing reactors for the Brazilian HVDC project “Rio Madeira – Bipole 1”, Coil Innovation has been awarded a major contract by AREVA T&D UK as well. The contract includes the supply of smoothing reactors for the HVDC project “Rio Madeira – Bipole 2”, the second large HVDC link rated ±600 kV DC and 3150 MW, which will be installed in parallel Bipole 1 to supply energy to the economic centers in the region in São Paulo.
